The 5th: Let's set up transport!
~Whether the conveyance point is a bottleneck of not? ~

The theme of this issue is "bottleneck verification of conveyance place". First of all, we introduce to you how to verify whether the conveyance part becomes a bottleneck by setting transport. Now, let's see the virtual process this time.

What we would like to confirm here is "whether it is not the whole bottleneck in this transport specification."
First, we will create a model.

(1)Create floor layout and production process
First we will create a virtual model layout and production process.
The floor layout is as follows.

The two conveyors differ in type from the other stations and these leave "Parallel processing" blank. By doing this, you can execute multiple processes that can be processed even in the middle of processing.Also, these two conveyors set the allowable amount to "3". For the allowable quantity, it is set up after linking between processes.

The production process and the respective destination station are as follows.

Product name is "product", input / output parts between processes represent ID as "part", and name states "part".
For the element work time, set the number of seconds determined from the above values.
Example: Conveyor speed: 50 [m / min] --> The element working time of process [Movement A] linking to the conveyor is 60.

(2)Setting of transportation
Set transport between conveyors. In the beginning, we create transport points on both conveyances.

Right click on the station [Buffer A] and select [Transport point creation] from the displayed menu, a red conveying point is created with a name as "P1".
In this case, double-click the created transfer point and keep the name of "PA".
Make the same settings for [Buffer B]. The name is set as "PB"


Next, register the worker master for transporting.
When you select [Master] --> [Team Master] in the upper right of the screen, the worker master composition screen is displayed.

Since the column team's name remains blank, we name the team as "TeamTr".
Since a worker is newly created as a member of TeamTr by right-clicking on [Member] list --> [Add], set [Name] to "Tr1" and [Speed] to "0.8333" [m / s] from 50 [m / min] of the virtual process.

When you are done the settings, click the [Update] button and confirm the team formation.
With this, the workers who are going to carry are defined. Next, we create a "transport activity" to make the worker complete transport.
Right-click on an empty area on the floor plan pane --> select [Activity…].
Right-click the list item part of [Transport activity] on the tab displayed as default --> select [Add]

Double-click the [Assignment] part of the newly added row --> check the members created earlier in the [Member] area of the displayed screen and click the [Update] button.

Next, double-click the value area of [Transport work] which is being blank. First, set the transfer point.
Double-click the [Transport point] part and set the transfer point.

The transfer point is added to the right by selecting "PA" on the left → clicking the [-->] button.
Set to be as "PA" --> "PB" --> "PA" and click the [Update] button to confirm the setting.
Next, set the parts to be transported.
Double-click the blank column item to the right of [Transport point] item to be displayed the setting screen of whatever transport component.
Next, double-click the value area of [Transport work] which is being blank. First, set the transport point.
Double-click the [Transport point] part and set the transfer point.

Like the transfer point, set "parts" to be transported. After selecting "parts", click the [-->] button.
Click the [Update] button to confirm the setting.

Next, we will set loading & unloading.

Double-click on the [Loading] part of the "PA" in the first row, input "1" in the upper left area, and set to "Load" one part (in 0 seconds) by "PA". Likewise, set the unloading part of the "PB" row.
* By setting all "PA" in the third line as 0, the setting will return to "PA" without doing anything after loading "PB".

Setting up the transport activity is now completed.

(3) Confirmation of simulation result
Implement rendering, and open the material flow to see if there is any waiting in the post-process, and display the status of each facility.

Watching at the operating status, it can be seen that the transport section is bottleneck from the fact that non-operating status is intermittently occurring in [Equipment B] and the inventory transition of [Buffer A] is increasing.
